Stephen Ladyman, Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Chairman commented on today’s review of community hospital staffing in today’s Board meeting and said:
“In its meeting this week, the Board has re-affirmed our commitment to re-open community hospital inpatient wards as soon as it is safe to do so. The staffing position continues to improve, slowly but positively, but we are still not in a position to safely re-open the wards.
“The Board has delegated authority to the Chief Executive to keep the situation under weekly review and approve re-opening once the staffing situation improves enough. This means the Trust does not need to wait until the next Board meeting in May before any wards can re-open.”
