Date: 18 December 2017

Every month we celebrate a team and individual staff member who has gone above and beyond their role to deliver great patient care, better patient or carer experience or who have truly demonstrated the Trust’s values in their work in whatever role they have – front-line, back office or support staff.

Employee of the Month

This month's employee of the month is Mark Dunthorn, Mendip Home Treatment Team Manager, Mendip Home Treatment Team.

Mark was nominated by the whole team (Elizabeth Robshaw-Smith, Emma Dalwood, Sarah Stephenson, Joanna Sheldrake, Dr Andreas Papadopoulos, Luke Baxendale, Sian Young, Daniel Vera, Martin Fry, Sam Winstone, Chrissie Fernandez), plus students and consultants, who said:

“During a difficult period over the last 12 months Mark has provided support and has gone above and beyond to try and accommodate the team’s needs.

“He has been available to us all even on his days off. Due to sickness, holidays and vacant posts Mark has done all he can to support the team alongside his duties as team manager. Even during times of immense stress Mark has remained professional, supportive and upbeat no matter what circumstance."

Team of the Month

The team this month is the

Congratulations to the Nursing Team Pyrland Ward 2, older persons inpatient ward.

The Team was nominated by Michelle Cross Ward Manager Pyrland Ward who said:

“This hard working team of staff have had an increase in patients during the last stages of their life. They have all shown real compassion and caring whilst doing this not just for the patients, but also for the family members during such difficult times. This is reflected in the thank you letters that are received from relatives with comments such as ‘you allowed my father to go with dignity and respect in a quiet and peaceful room with soft music and lighting’ and ‘you looked after us all so wonderfully under the sad circumstances’."
