Nick Macklin returns to Somerset
Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust welcomes a new Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development.
Nick Macklin, who has more than 25 years’ experience in human resources, returns to Somerset after two and a half years with Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust.
Edward Colgan, Chief Executive of Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Nick Macklin to our Trust. He has a wealth of experience in both Central and local government, police services and in NHS acute hospital trusts, all which will be invaluable as we look to work even more closely with our health and social care partners here in Somerset. He also worked with a range of regional organisations including Health Education England (South West) the local education and training board for the NHS in the South West.
“He has a strong history in providing leadership and direction for HR teams and I am confident that he will play a full part in making sure our staff have all the training and support they need to provide the excellent patient care for which they are renown.”
Nick Macklin is well known and respected amongst the local NHS in Somerset. Prior to his appointment to Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, he worked at Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust for three years, the last 18 months as Director for Human Resources.
Nick Macklin spoke about his new role and said:
“I am very pleased to join Somerset Partnership. I know Trust staff have a reputation for providing excellent care and I am looking forward to meeting them as soon as possible. I also look forward to meeting colleagues across the wider Health and Social Care Community so we can continue our work together for the people of Somerset."
Nick has a wife and 2 teenage daughters and currently lives in Exeter, Devon. He is keen on participating in and watching a wide variety of sports, especially rugby.
