Following a workshop with public stakeholders in Chard on 13 November 2017, the Trust is hosting a workshop on:
- Thursday 30 November 2017, Shepton Mallet Council Chambers, 6-9pm
This will be an informal workshop, primarily for local people who have an interest in the recent temporary bed closures at Shepton Mallet, looking at how we can best support local patients and their families while the ward is closed.
We will also be looking at a draft ‘consultation document’. We are intending to hold a formal consultation during December and the early part of January, asking for views about the temporary closure and how it may affect people. We want to make sure that this document is understandable, and contains the right options for local people to consider. We will be running a consultation to make sure that we have listened to local people. This will be particularly important if the staff shortages continue and we need to extend the period that the beds are closed.
This workshop will be by booked place only and is limited to 40 places. This is because the format of the meeting will be facilitated table-top discussions. It is not a public meeting and there will not be senior managers in attendance.
The purpose of this meeting is to listen to representatives of the local community and hear ideas and suggestions for how we can best undertake a formal consultation.
If you would like to book a place at this workshop, or have any questions, please reply via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Please do not assume that you have a place until you have received confirmation.)
