The Living Wage

Date: 15 September 2015

We are delighted to announce that the Trust has recently considered and approved a request from the Joint Management Staff Consultative Committee to introduce the Living Wage for the Trust.

The Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently by the Living Wage Foundation and updated annually. The current UK Living Wage is £7.85 an hour. It is calculated by the Centre for Research in Social Policy at Loughborough University, according to the basic cost of living in the UK. Additional information can be found on the Living Wage Foundation web site

The Living Wage will be implemented from the 1 September 2015. It will be paid to the 173 eligible substantive staff with September pay and to the 242 eligible bank staff with October pay, on the basis that bank shifts are paid a month in arrears.
