Who won our staff awards for April and May 2019?

Date: 19 May 2019

Employee of the Month - April 2019

Lawrence Heard won this award for the way he improved cyber security throughout Somerset Partnership. Much of the highly complicated work he undertook had to be completed out of hours to avoid disruption to services and potential outages.

Team of the Month – April 2019

The stroke rehabilitation teams across Somerset (three teams pictured left) won the award as during February and March the team saw higher than usual numbers of stroke patients. The teams rallied to ensure that patients got the therapy they needed, as well as providing enhanced services for patients on the community hospital stroke wards in South Petherton and Williton and early supported discharge to help get patients out of the district general hospitals, where clinically appropriate, so they could be cared for at the community hospitals. The staff worked consistently hard during this challenging time and even agreed to postpone annual leave.

Learner of the Month – April 2019

Michael Foster, our contracts and performance analyst, won the award for taking part in the NHS Demand and Capacity Trainer Programme. This was a programme that required Michael to step outside of his comfort zone and learn about how to predict demand and capacity in community and mental health trust.

Team of the Month – May 2019

The North Sedgemoor integrated rehabilitation team (pictured right) won this award for the way they went the extra mile to care for patients despite staffing challenges in the team over the last few months.
