Around 1 in 4 people in the UK are likely to experience a mental health problem each year, but the term ‘mental health problem’ can vary significantly.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, we are showcasing the different services across Somerset, which are designed to support all the different types of mental health problems.
Willow Ward, based in Bridgwater, is our mental health rehabilitation ward. The team care for patients who require a longer stay in an inpatient ward, enabling them to provide more support for people with long term mental health problems. Treatment is focused on aiding their recovery, and providing the skills to move into independent living or supported accommodation.
Patients are referred to Willow Ward through local mental health community teams and inpatient services.
The team are committed to helping their patients, and earlier this year, Willow Ward was rated Outstanding for Caring by the CQC for their work with patients and helping to shape the service. You can read more about the report and its finding here.
