Following the announcement of the temporary closure of inpatient services at Shepton Mallet and Chard Community Hospitals and the move of beds from Dene Barton Community Hospital, Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust will be inviting people to comment more widely on how we can best support local people with their health and care needs both during the temporary closures currently in place and to help us develop a wider public consultation to take place during December and January leading to the Trust Board meeting on 6 February 2018 at which a formal review of the decision will take place.
We will be holding workshops in both Chard and Shepton Mallet during November:
- Chard: Monday 13 November 2017, 1.30pm until 3.30pm, Chard Guildhall
- Shepton Mallet: Thurday 30 November 2017, 6-9pm, venue TBC
These events will be by booked places only via the email address firstname.lastname@example.org. They will be designed to listen further to local views and concerns about the temporary closures and help us develop our consultation plans.
You can find information about the current position and the reasons for the temporary closures here.
We would welcome your views and will be publishing details of how you can comment and contribute shortly.
A report from the events and the consultation will be presented to our Board on 6 February 2018.
