Shepton Mallet Community Hospital has 17 inpatient beds, 8 of these beds are dedicated to specialist inpatient stroke rehabilitation.  There is a team of doctors, nurses and therapists who support patients during their hospital stay and who deliver personalised care in line with an agreed care plan.

A37 into centre of Shepton Mallet.  Take B3136 signpost to Glastonbury just passed the King William Inn take right turning signpost to Wells. Take second turning on the right into St Peters Road, take second turning on the left into Bucklers Road.  The hospital is on the right and the Treatment Centre can be seen on the left.

In addition to the inpatient services at the hospital we provide outpatient clinics for a wide range of specialties.  These include:

 

Consultants - Audiology, Dermatology, Cardiology-Echos, Cardiology-Rapid Access Chest Pain, Musculosketal-Spines, TIA, Dermatology, ENT, General Medicine, Geriatric, Gynaecology , Ophthalmology, Prostate Assessment, Urology, Orthotics, Diabetes, Stroke Interface and Paediatrics .

 

Specialist  Nurses - Diabetes, Stroke, School Screening, Child Health, Child Hearing, Continence, COPD, Lymphodema, MS, Occupational Health, School Health and Speech and Language .

 

Therapists - Speech and Language Therapy, Podiatry, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Therapy .

 

Day Care Services - Blood Transfusions, IV Medication, Balance and Safety assessments and classes, Multi-Disciplinary Assessments, support for Long Term Conditions, Venesection and 24 hr Blood Pressure Monitoring.
